Q Exactive HRMS: Factors in choosing Resolution and Scan Type

This poster presentation from ASMS 2012 highlights the Thermo Scientific Q Exactive™ hybrid quadrupole-Orbitrap mass spectrometer, which is rapidly being adopted for quantitative bioanalysis of both large and small molecules. Using the Q Exactive HR/AM MS, it gives scientists flexibility with a broad range of quantitative capability that cannot be achieved by even the most sensitive triple quadrupoles for routine bioanalysis.

Analysis of Synthetic Cannabinoids (Spice) in Urine
Utilizing HRAM

This talk presents a LC high-resolution, accurate-mass mass spectrometry approach to fast quantitative and qualitative analysis of Synthetic Cannabinoids (Spice) drugs and metabolites in urine. The benefits of this approach over MRM for the fast analysis of JWH (SPICE) metabolites are presented. The talk also discusses various hydrolysis approaches, presents comparative data, and pros and cons of each.

Automated Online Multi-Residue LC-MS/MS Method for the Determination of Antibiotics in Chicken Meat

This note describes a multi-residue, confirmatory method for the quantitative determination of antibiotics in chicken meat using the Thermo Scientific Transcend™ TLX system coupled to an LC-MS/MS. The Transcend TLX system, powered by TurboFlow™ technology, was used for online sample cleanup instead of lengthy offline solid-phase extraction (SPE). Combining the number of target compounds with the high sample throughput, this approach fulfills the demand for a fast and cost-effective multi-analyte method.
